The Art of Dead
elephantsandgold:
The practice of embalming
Must add splendor to the tedium of death
The idea that something
Still
Is worth preserving
Tickles the heart-string
And rewinds
All our fatalistic inclinations.
To her,
it is not a dead art
but a ritual of life,
not to be disturbed by modern
sensibility nor contemporary
death denial.

Mummification with Anubis →
I don’t even care that this was more than likely made for kids. It was pretty awesome.
euphoriaofputriddespoilment asked: If want to follow more blags, you may want to follow my blog. May I also say that I am a big fan of your blog?
Help me out?
So I am literally only following 29 blogs, this is insanity and most of them never update. So send me blogs I’ll love please!!
**EDIT** So I guessed at the number of people I was following..I was wrong, I am following 22 people.

sorryboutthebrains replied to your post: I was off tumblr for awhile and when I came back I didn’t see any of your posts. I was worried you had left and I never worked up the courage or free time to ask you questions about the mortuary science field. Glad to see you’re back!
Well, for casual questions I don’t mind them being published, but I’d prefer to email you or something about schooling...

appletastedglory asked: Love your blog! I was heading into mortuary science up until a few weeks ago in college...but I want to switch back! I love being in and helping at funeral homes. In other words just nice to meet another aspiring funeral director...they seem to be hard to find these days lol :)

This woman, fearful of the end of the world, took a boxcutter to the throats of her two daughters, and then sliced her own throat.

Ohio funeral home sues over right to use Alkaline...
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The first U.S. funeral home to publicly offer a cremation alternative that dissolves bodies using lye and heat has filed a lawsuit seeking to block recent restrictions by Ohio regulators and alleging they don’t have authority to stop it from using the procedure.
