The eyes have a tendency to sink back into the sockets after death. Eyecaps are like large contact lenses with a smooth side that contacts the eye and a studded side that grips the eyelid. They are used to add natural looking shape to the eyes and to help keep the eyelids closed. A coat of a moisturizing stay creme over the caps helps keep the eyelids from drying out.

This spray is used to clean the skin and orifices of the body prior to or after embalming. It is a highly effective disinfectant and is sometimes added to the arterial fluid to kill the microbes that cause tissue gas.

These hooks (Aneurysm Hooks) are used mainly to seperate tissue when raising an artery or a vein to the surface of the skin for arterial injection. They are also used to do just what their name implies: hook things.

These are the chemicals injected into the abdominal and thoracic cavities via the trocar. About two bottles of fluid are used per body. The chemical on the left has an index of 5 (5% formaldehyde) and the chemical on the right has an index of 22 (22% formaldehyde). Many embalmers prefer the lower index chemical because it preserves just as good or better than the higher index chemical, but doesn’t have the strong fumes.
